The family and friends of Lila Jerree “Tweetie” McKeeman, 69, of Abernathy, TX, will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, December 28, 2020, at Abell Funeral Home. Cremation is under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy. Mrs. McKeeman died Thursday, December 24, 2020, at her home in Abernathy. She was born October 15, 1951 in Lubbock. Jerree was the daughter of the late Harold Dean Miller and Audrey Inez (Brooks) Miller of Abernathy. She graduated Abernathy High School and lived in various communities around Texas, but mainly in the Abernathy, New Deal and Lubbock areas. She married Marc McKeeman July 18, 2010 in Goldsmith, TX. She was passionate about helping Veterans and was known as the Poppy Lady to most that knew her. She loved NASCAR racing and Jimmie Johnson was “her man”. She loved Texas Tech football and Alabama football, and Roll Tide was her motto. Jerree was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 260, American Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders. She served as past president of the Plainview Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, and had served as Chaplain of the Lubbock Chapter and was Texas State Chaplain from 2016-2018. She once travelled across the states to go to an American Legion event where they delivered checks to Veterans in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her husband, Marc McKeeman of Abernathy, Mother, Audrey Miller of Abernathy, children, Wendy Lett and husband Randy, Erica Samples, Valerie Jacobsen and husband Jeromy, Chancy Samples and wife Amber, Allouri Schneider and Everett McKeeman, 26 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a siblings, Bobby Miller, Tina Miller and Kelly Jasper, her beloved animals, Wittle Bit, her dog, and Old Man, her cat.
