Honor Mission Terrance Sutton
January 8, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Sutton, Terrance Wayne, “Terry,” age 72, passed away Thursday, December 31st, 2020. He was born to Howard and Erma Sutton in McCamey, Texas on February 7th, 1948. He graduated from Ranger High School, and he received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for four years, two of which were in Berlin, Germany. In 1987 he married Jane Wu, and they settled down near the Twin Cities in Minnesota where they had their three children, Joseph, Paul, and Stephanie. Terry was a jack of all trades throughout his life. He worked in the oil field, as a ranch hand, master helicopter mechanic, social worker, financial analyst, and as a government auditor for the Texas Department of Agriculture which he retired from in April of 2019. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, ancestral research, reading, playing billiards, singing, and playing the guitar.
His children all attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX where they became very involved in Christian ministry. Since then, Terry and his wife have actively supported college ministry and have hosted many Bible studies in their home. He loved the Lord Jesus, the church, and caring for and mentoring others.
Terry was someone full of wisdom and love. You could always depend on him to listen to you and he would always have an encouraging word or word of guidance no matter what the issue. His smile is something that everyone will remember and he had a talent for always making everyone around him laugh. When with his siblings at family gatherings, you could be certain to find him submerged in an intense game of 42.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jane Sutton; son Joe Sutton and wife Bekah; son Paul Sutton and wife Marguerite; daughter Stephanie and husband Russell Alliev; brother Tomas Suton; sister Beverly Sutton; sister Sharon Parson-Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews. He was truly beloved and will be greatly missed.
